sportdrumming is the world's first promotion turning music into a sport. The organization gathers drummers from all over the world to compete at the highest level. Drumming is athletic, musical, entertaining and competitive in battles; and the league showcases how sportdrumming is the future of sports and music entertainment.

HOW IT WORKS

sportdrumming brackets 2 players to face in a sporting (real) drum battle. Each drummer competes back in fourth in sets (of a selected time frame) to display their skills. Judges weigh both sportdrummers performances based on a point system. Sets are scored from 5 categories; chops, feel, groove, stick-tricks & collateral, adding to a maximum score of 20/20; with collateral capping at 2/2, stick-tricks at 3/3 and the rest at 5/5.

No quantization (timing and precision need to be natural)
No time manipulation

No backing tracks
No external help (no 2+ drummers playing together)

MISSION STATEMENT

What does sportdrumming seek from its works?

sportdrumming envisions to popularize drum battles as a respected 1v1 sport among all the other legacy sports. We want to craft musical competition into a spectacle dynamic, creating shows that every drumming, music and sport fan can appreciate as the highest level of sports and music entertainment. Rather than taking drumming's artistic value away, we're simply redefining the meaning of "sport" while adding a new sector of artistic endeavor.
